Portfolio > Antihalation Paintings

I am using a protective dye contained in 4x5 film that prevents light from exposing the back, or non-emulsion side, to make paintings. This dye is typically washed away during the development process. I'm using a liquid formula to active that dye in order to paint with it. I smear the wet film on paper or canvas, let the dye drip directly off of the film, and/or press the wet film onto a surface ultimately transferring the antihalation layer using pressure and time.
